Pointy Dice Are Fun

Pointy Dice Are Fun is a tabletop role-playing game system that I designed for my parents and sister, who struggled with the math part of Dungeons and Dragons. The game uses only two statistics and never asks a player to add above eleven. Instead of using a d20, players roll two d4s and add or subtract one, based on their stats.

I focused primarily on developing clear rules for the players and I left less structure and resources for the Game Master regarding session planning. If I were to continue developing this system, I would start by addressing this. I chose to spend less time developing these rules because I planned on running this game for my family and wanted to focus on making the rest of the rules accessible to TTRPG newcomers.
